About us
Holloway Neighbourhood Group is a local charity working in the London Borough of Islington. Our aim is to provide people of all ages with opportunities to live fulfilled lives as part of the community. In 1995, we established the Stress Project - providing therapeutic and social support to people with mental health problems and stress related illness.
More than 21 years on, we still operate from our tranquil Therapy Centre in Shelburne Road, delivering affordable counselling, complementary therapies and social support. Our services are delivered by a team of highly skilled and committed volunteers, co-ordinated and supported by a small team of staff. We work in partnership with mainstream health providers such as GP’s and the i-COPE team.
If you are experiencing anxiety, depression or a stress related health condition you can speak, in confidence, to one of our team. They will talk you through the therapies available and help you choose one that will suit your needs. You can be assured of our compassion and respect at all times.
We also hold weekly drop-in classes that are open to everyone.
Holloway Neighbourhood Group also runs the Old Fire Station - a warm and welcoming community centre just a few streets away from the Stress Project.

Accessibility
The Stress Project is in a converted victorian townhouse with four floors, which is lovely. However, due to the nature of the building it does mean that not all of our therapies & services are fully accessible for wheelchair users - and people with other mobility issues - as some services are on the top floor (51 steps). However, where possible we make services available on the ground floor. For further information please contact us.
