The Stress Project's Therapeutic Gardening Club were awarded Level 4 (Thriving) with an impressive 82 points,
only 4 points away from Level 5 (Outstanding).
Some of the judges comments:
A beautiful secluded rear area which enhances and supports the needs of the service users very well.
The Therapy Centre was set up in 1994 and the garden is an essential part of the clients' recovery process during treatment.
The space is looked after by a team of expert gardeners and may local volunteers.
There is support through partnership with other community gardens, and funding from Islington Council's Local Initiatives Fund and money raised by Health Promote through The Health Lottery.
Herbs and veg grown on site are used for cooking food at the drop-ins as well as jam and chutney making sessions.
A huge "thank you" to all the volunteers to gave their time and lots of hard work to help us achieve this fantastic award.
